Life in Mauritius

The Mauritius Digital Nomad Visa is a long-stay visa valid for at least 6 months and up to 12 months, ideal for remote workers and location-independent professionals. This visa allows multiple entries and exits during its validity and is completely free of charge no processing fees.

Unlike tourist or business visas, this visa was specifically created to support digital nomads, retirees, and remote professionals who wish to experience the Mauritian lifestyle while continuing their work abroad.

Who Can Apply

The Mauritius Digital Nomad Visa is available to:

  • Remote workers and digital nomads
  • Retirees looking to live long-term in Mauritius
  • Investors and professionals working remotely with clients outside Mauritius
  • Families accompanying remote-working professionals

Applicants must plan to stay for more than 180 days in a calendar year and must not enter the Mauritian labor market. As of 2022, over 2,000 Digital Nomad Visas have been approved.

Citizens from 114 countries are eligible. If you’re not eligible, the EDB (Economic Development Board) recommends applying for a tourist visa first, then switching to the digital nomad visa after arrival.
